This little (25 pound) pup is ready for his family. He walks well on leash, rides well in the car, knows sit, down, come and is learning 'wait' for you to open the door. But he's a trickster and has already learned 'are you sleepy?' where he'll fall on his side. If you ask 'are you really sleepy?' he'll drop his head to the floor (see his video) and 'over' where he'll roll to his other side. He knows 'take it' if you have a stick and will retrieve the stick and 'drop it' to let you take it back and throw again. He's also learning 'leave it' so he doesn't pick up icky things from the ground. Because he knows down, sleepy, over and take it, he is on his way to learning to wrap himself in a baby blanket...an opportunity for you to impress your family and friends and earn Cale more treats and love. Cale gets along well with other dogs, seems to have little interest in cats and is ready for his forever home. His enthusiasm may make him in appropriate for small children as he might knock them over. Older children would be great if they like to throw a ball or a stick or let a dog sleep with them at night.
Cale loves to go on walks and he's learning to not pull on the leash. He'd do well in a home with no small children, 10 and over would be okay. SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare Requirements for Adoption 1. Most of our dogs will require a fenced in yard to allow them to play safely outdoors. 2. If you have other pets in the home, you will need to provide proof of current rabies vaccines. 3. If you rent your home, we will need to verify that you have your landlord?s approval for the pet. 4. If you have other pets, we strongly encourage you to bring them to the shelter to meet the animal you wish to adopt first, to make sure everyone will get along. The S.P.C.A Albrecht Center For Animal Welfare's adoption fee is $75 and includes age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, feline leukemia testing, spay/neuter and microchip implantation and registration.
